5 stars I read this 2 months ago when I first got the ARC and I already want to reread it again. Maybe it's because the World Championship has been over for a while and I miss it, maybe it's because I can't justify rereading Mistakes Were Made for a third time in less than a year.Either way, Cleat Cute is amazing and Meryl Wilsner can write no wrong. I absolutely loved this book and the two MCs Grace and Phoebe. It has a great cast of supporting characters and if you're into soccer, you might associate some of the characters to NWSL players. That was fun!And the tropes: enemies to friends with benefit to lovers, a sprinkle of miscommunication and great mental health representation <3 All my faves. Impossible not to enjoy this book!
4 stars I was not too sure when I first picked this up because I'm not really a fan of the military/ex-soldier trope but I'm glad I did.
5 stars Absolutely loved this. The art is stunning and the story is beautiful. I wasn't expecting this graphic novel to make me so emotional. One of my favourites ever. I'm definitely going to have to get my own copy. Highly recommend!
4.5 stars Nina LaCour never disappoints. Her stories are always so realistic and emotional. Read the last pages on the bus, cried on the bus -_-
This was definitely not what I was expecting... The writing was beautiful, but I've been left with so many unanswered questions... It's been more frustrating than anything else.
5 stars I don't remember the last time I waited so long for a book. I waited for Iris for YEARS. It was everything. I'm sad the series is over. Someone needs to turn this into a tv show.
2.5 stars God, this was such a disappointment. I picked this book up expecting to love it, and well that did not happen. The characters were flat (and pretty much all depressed and alcoholics. oh joy); there was nothing likable about any of them, the plot was pretty much non-existent. NOTHING HAPPENED, though it picked up a little towards the end. This book was basically a wannabe Harry Potter/Narnia/Lord of the Rings without the awesome.George R.R. Martin described this book as: “The Magicians is to Harry Potter as a shot of Irish whiskey is to a glass of weak tea.” Um, sure George... If you meant Harry Potter is the shot of Whiskey and The Magicians the glass of weak tea... It makes me angry that people compare it to Harry Potter or describe it as ‘Harry Potter for adults'. Please don't.
3.5 stars I have mixed feelings about this book! I was so excited to read it and the premise sounded fun, but 20% in, I didn't find it as engaging as the first two books and I didn't feel like picking it up :( Maybe it was the setting that restricted the action? It didn't feel as exciting as the previous book, less action packed. Still, I love the humour in this series and this 3rd book doesn't disappoint there. Also, Vero is also growing on me and I cannot wait to see how her story arc will develop.
5 stars I'm so happy we got to read Ask, Tell from Rebecca's POV. This is one of my favourite series ever.“I don't even know how to explain it. I don't want a relationship, but I don't want to be alone anymore...”
4.5 stars This was the best book to try to break my reading slump with! The premise was fun, the execution was great and this book was honestly hilarious. I had a great time reading it! Not to mention its full of Taylor Swift lyric ref. Best book to read while trying and succeeding to get tickets for the Eras Tour!
4 stars I absolutely adore this series! The mystery in this one was great! It was cleverly done, and I didn't have a clue who the murderer was until it was revealed. But now that I know, I can appreciate all the little breadcrumbs Reilly sprinkled throughout the novel.
