This book got me out of a slump and put me back into a new one 😭

What I love most about reading books is going into them, zero expectations, just hoping to get into a cool new world, where the author has given everything to make it their own. And this is just what happened.

The world building has so much to offer still but this first book was an awesome introduction to everything.

Sabine? Love her, she is everything I was hoping for in a FMC and I can't wait to see what she'll do in the next book. The only thing I wish would have been different is how quickly she falls for people, but lets blame that on being kept from human contact all those years.

As for Wolf? Gods I love him. Give me a tortured MMC who's loyal to the wrong person because they never had anyone and I WILL EAT THAT SHIT UP.

I need the next book ASAP. That ending will be the death of me.

Okay, I am sure if I were to discuss this book with someone, loads of stuff I decided to just laugh at or ignore would come up as a bit cringey (is that even a word?😅). BUT, and hear me out, BUT. The way I enjoyed reading this book? Ugh, you can't even begin to imagine.

I screamed out loud, I laughed, I gasped. Oof, I did really enjoy reading this book.

But what's worse, is that fucking ENDING!!

Evie, what the hell? 🥲 I don't even know how many books this series is going to be but I'll be reading each and everyone of them, thank you very much.

I'm here for the growth of Sabine and to see her become the badass that I know she is. And also? For many more pages of Wolf worshipping her as a goddess. I SAID WHAT I SAID.

Aside from that, it is true I wished the fantasy aspect of the book got more development. More than development I wish we got more POVs from other characters, specially since there's a conflict that involves multiple teams, and it would have been so cool to know their perspectives.

But overall? It was an AMAZING book.

i started this book two weeks ago but in reality i it could have been finished in a day 🥲 sometimes a girl is just tired you know? but lets talk about the book 😌

what can i say? this love story was certainly a really cute one, falling for the roommate you only see once a month? and the feeling is mutual? heck yes

let's talk characters because aside from our mcs there was a lot more people included in this story 👀

i didn't know how the 8 roommates situation was gonna be handled throughout the story but i ended up falling so in love with each roommate that i wish we get some books about them too 🥺❤️

but Henry and Lucy's story? that really dragged me through all the stages in grief...

denial? yup

anger? yes

bargaining? also yes

depression? i had to take some time off to be able to finish the book so... maybe, yes?

acceptance? yeah, that was me today accepting i needed to finish it once and for all 🫡

even though that may sound way harsher than i intended to the reality is i started loving this book, SO MUCH, it made me giggle, made my heart warm up 🥺❤️ but then... the drama started 😭

but Carla it wouldn't be romance without a little drama? yeah you're right, but remember that anger i told you about? Lucy was way too much for me at times, so much so that it made me want to strangle her 😂😅 there were some behaviors she showed towards the end of the book that really didn't fit with what i saw of her at the start of the book and it left me wondering what the hell happened 🥲

Henry's arc was quite as I expected, despite him being aloof at times and not saying things as carefully as one would say them, he had a heart of gold, and in the end he was what i liked most out of this pair 🫶🏻 he was driven and his goals were clear relationship wise and work wise, so big round of applause to him 👏🏻

so if you are looking for a real cute romance that's character driven, this might be your book, and you'll hopefully love it just as much as i did! ☺️💕

in a way i always thought Halsey's book was gonna be it for me, but give me Posey now anytime, i'll be choosing him, HE'S MY BABY

it makes me so sad that this chapter is over (and i honestly feel like curling up into a ball and crying myself to sleep) but at the same time i can't wait to see more of Posey and the team in OC's book 🥺

Posey is just THE SWEETEST (and the freakiest 👀) and the fact that Wylie compliments that so fucking well? GIVE ME THIS DYNAMIC EVERYDAY, THANK YOU

the way i love a woman with a strong character who knows what they want, THAT is Wylie for you *chef's kiss*

anyway, i am feeling the book blues right now because i need more Meghan romance, so that's my cue to start her baseball series 😌

Oof, miss Evie Marceau, once again you left me hanging for the next book 🫣

This book follows the tragic ending on book two, and although i expected a bit more drama around what had happened, Sabine's side of the story was what kept me hooked. The novelty of this kingdom sitting behind the border of which we had not seen anything until this book, was what had me hanging out for more.

The gods were something I was really excited about but after being told in the first books how cruel they could be, they ended up falling a bit flat for my taste, if that makes any sense? I was really hoping for that cruelty but the times it was shown it ended up feeling more like a kid's capricious tantrum? But I'm not quite worried about why that is. I bet we'll understand why in upcoming books 😌

I am also really curious as to what's in store for Basten. I feel like he has so much more to offer but we haven't been shown any of this cards. Hopefully that's about to happen 🤞🏼

So far, I can't help but compare how reading this book felt to how reading FBAA 2 felt.

Was i engaged enough with the story that i kept reading? Yes.

Was that ending the plot twist I'd been waiting for? For sure.

Do i feel like i can only remember the ending? Also, yes 🥲

I feel like longer series sometimes have these slower points that are inevitable but can feel like they drag the story a bit in a way. But I hope this means that what we're about to get in book 4 will be worth the wait 😌
