This book started extremely strong, but the plot keeps getting too “convenient” for my taste. I'm also a number one hater of the chosen one/destiny trope ✌🏻

Decenter men from your lives, ladies. This book could have been about 150 pages shorter btw 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not a terrible read but terribly predictable with a terribly boring/inconsistent main character. Love Bartholomew though, will do anything for him 🫶🏼

Project Hail Mary is a brilliant read—clever, gripping, and thoroughly entertaining. Ray Porter's narration elevates the experience so much; his performance is outstanding and truly brings the story to life. My only critique is that some of the cultural stereotypes used when introducing scientists from other countries felt a bit clichéd and juvenile. A more nuanced approach there would have made an already excellent book perfect.

I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. Everything about the plot is always kind of “convenient” How are we gonna move the plot and make everyone happy? Ursa running away + everyone's depression/ insecurities disappearing.

A near perfect book. My one and only criticism (same goes for other books by V.E. Schwab) is that she needs more diversity in her characters. These vampires lived for centuries and haven't encountered a single non-white person?

The storytelling of this book is amazing. This is an incredibl  strong start to a series, can't wait to read the rest of it!

Miki has my heart 😭

So I guess this is what people meant by reading for the vibe. Can it be a lot better? Definitely. Did I have a good time reading it? For sure.

Easily one of the best books I've read this year!

I should have known that no-stake cozy reads are not for me. Literally, and I meant literally nothing happens in this book whatsoever. I do adore the little vignettes of the dreamers' lives but they are not enough to make up for the boring main characters and flat storyline. I would have enjoyed this if it was a slice-of-life anime though.

  1. Why did they discuss this extremely serious and private matter at such a public place?
    2. Why isn't Paul in jail, for multiple reasons?
    3. Why do authors think using “mental illness™️” is a good way to further the plot and (bad) character development? There was a chance right there to say more about moral conflicts and parents/children relationship, but no, it's all genetically psycho illness.

I guess I have to read the entire series now

You'll either absolutely loathe the writing style or fall completely in love with it. Luckily, I'm one of the latter.

10/10, no notes. Extremely upsetting at times, but in a way that I want a book to be.

Knock 1 star down because I truly don't care for the triangle romance 😭

Did I want the book to be longer? Yes. Did I understand why it is better being this short? Also yes.

My short story queen.

Beautifully written.

This book is diabolical. My only issue with this book is what did Beetee and Plutarch think when proposing this plot to Haymitch??? I mean it directly parallels what they eventually do to Katniss, but I just can't help thinking that it's such a futile attempt, like obviously it wouldn't do anything. Guess they learned that lesson with Katniss . Still, in conclusion, great addition to the hunger games series, I cried a little bit too much.

My biggest issue is how uninteresting of a character Kell is, compared to Lila and Holland. Will still probably read book 2.

Archery, Angst, and Autism - Katniss Everdeen  (NotExactly_Creative7, 2023)

Do I like it? Yes. Do I think Vicious is better? Yes. Do I think there should be a third book? Please, no.

Please don't discuss books with me if you think this book's theme is over the top 🫶🏼 Express your opinion, just not to me.

If all romance books are like this, I'd be an avid romance reader.
