fun and satirical; note to myself to revisit it when i'm more familiar with the mexican / latin american at large literary canon. i feel like this book would have been such a hoot to read when it first came out, because it seems very much a commentary / satire on the literary world in 1978 which is, unfortunately, lost on me now. still, very fun!
