See allI’mma say this, Elliot is the OG yearner.
This book was…. Interesting to say the least it had a good plot ig? But I don’t really understand the relevance of Sean in this book like yeah I guess we needed Macy to be “in love with” someone when she finally reunite with Elliot, but then both of them are just emotionally unavailable throughout the whole relationship and the relationship itself is moving way too fast like what was the point of being in that relationship, then?? future security? Bullshit which is also how I feel about Rachel if the whole point was for him to have a girlfriend then why make him break up with her the second he sees Macy again. Like what was homeboy thinking? That his feelings for Macy would not return when he sees her again even though he was with someone else? He basically just treated her like a rebound of sorts.
Macy initially felt kind of toxic though (in the “then” parts, especially) but Elliot was better I guess. Like I said OG yearner. You could physically feel him yearning for her throughout the book, which kind of made it cute. Kind of.
Also, I (like many other readers of this book) hate that Elliot’s sexual assault was just overlooked?? Like the poor guy suffered and then had to bear the title of being “a cheater”.
Anywho, this book didn’t start out strong, but ended in the most predictable yet good way
