I'm going to have to give it a big'ol "meh".

I finished it though, but probably won't spend a thought for book 2.

Unfortunately a bit of a miss for me. After the 1st book I was looking forward to this one... but it didn't quite get there.
There is very little in the book that makes me think, “Wow, how did the author come up with this idea/plot line/ character/ solution?”

I'm going to give the next book a try though...

Good read. Has some depth and interesting enough characters. Good world, with a lot of space for development.
Happy to continue with the series.

I read it, I enjoyed it, and it's quite alright.
It is just a not slow and passive for my taste.
I read the book all the way to the end because I had this sense that... well... it wouldn't be climactic.
I do so see how people would love this style if writing. Very tranquil.
I won't be continuing the series however.

I really like Macronomicon's skill in building nerdy, likable MCs. His progression mechanics are novel and extremely engaging. Which is why I would have given this book 5 stats.. for the 1st half of the book.

If only it wasn't for the forced, teenage sexual angst... but keep in mind, I am an old fart, so.

I'll give book 2 a try, but I'm expecting more the same... sigh.
