Alejandro Jodorowsky

A multifaceted Chilean figure, Alejandro Jodorowsky has worked as a writer, playwright, poet, stage actor and mime, as well as a theatre and film director, screenwriter, soundtrack composer, sculptor, illustrator and comic-book writer, philosopher, and psychotherapist, among other activities.

In 1953, Jodorowsky moved to Paris, where he founded the Panic Movement with Arrabal and Topor, later relocating to Mexico. He lived there for twenty years before returning to France, where he settled permanently. He has stood out as a film director, with his movies being controversial and regarded as cult classics.

He has also been noted as the creator of psychomagic, a blend of shamanism, theatre, and psychoanalysis. As an author, notable works include Cuentos pánicos, Psicomagia, El Incal, and La casta de los Metabarones, among others.
