Becky Cloonan is an American comic book creator whose work has been published by Tokyopop, DC Comics (Vertigo), Marvel, Image and Dark Horse. Both a writer and an artist, she is known for personal, atmospheric stories such as Wolves, The Mire and Demeter, collected in By Chance or Providence. She has won four Eisner Awards, including Best Single Issue or One-Shot in 2013 for The Mire, becoming the first woman to win in that category. In 2024, she received additional Eisner Awards for Somna: A Bedtime Story (with Tula Lotay) and the short story The Kelpie.
