Jim C. Hines

Jim C. Hines is an American fantasy author best known for his humorous and adventurous novels, including the Goblin Quest trilogy, the Princess series, the Magic ex Libris series, and the Janitors of the Post-Apocalypse trilogy. His work often blends humor, action, and social commentary, and he has been recognized for his efforts to promote diversity and representation in science fiction and fantasy. Hines won the 2012 Hugo Award for Best Fan Writer for his essays and blog posts on issues such as gender representation and inclusivity in the genre. In addition to his novels, he has published numerous short stories and anthologies. Before becoming a full-time writer, Hines worked as a male crisis counselor and in the Michigan state government. He is also known for his playful photo recreations of problematic book covers to highlight issues of sexism in publishing. Hines lives in Michigan with his family.
