Miriam Benisse, a small-town girl who found her way to the west, has always had a passion for storytelling. As a young queer child growing up in the south during the 1980s, the library became her sanctuary, a place where she could see herself as the hero of her own story. Now, she's on a mission to provide that same sense of belonging to others through her writing.
