Author Bio

Wu Ming 2 is the pseudonym of Giovanni Cattabriga (Bologna, 1974), a writer and founding member of the Wu Ming narrative collective, with whom he participated in one of the most significant experiences in contemporary Italian literature, starting with the novel Q (Einaudi, 1999), then signed under the collective name Luther Blissett.
Alongside his collaborative work, he has developed a solid individual path as an author. His solo works include Guerra agli umani (Einaudi, 2004), a grotesque and irreverent novel set in the woods of the Apennines; Il sentiero degli dei (Ediciclo, 2010), an original example of hybrid narrative between reportage and walking; Timira (Einaudi, 2012), co-written with Antar Mohamed, a powerful portrait of Isabella Marincola, a Black Italian woman, anti-fascist; Il sentiero luminoso (Ediciclo, 2016), which explores partisan resistance through the lens of travel and memory; Mensaleri (Einaudi, 2025), a saga spanning over a century, including rebellions, workers' struggles, and a mysterious butterfly massacre.
As is the practice of the Wu Ming collective, Wu Ming 2 has chosen to shield his individual biography from media overexposure, making public only those autobiographical elements that have narrative or political value within a collective discourse. This position is consistent with the group's ethos, which has always focused on shifting attention from the author to the text, and from the signature to the story.
