100 Bullets, Book I
2011 • 456 pages

If you're a fan of Tarantino or Jean-Pierre Melville style, you'll probably enjoy this series—especially if you're into the neo-noir aesthetic. For me, The Minutemen alone was enough to get me hooked and was one of the main reasons I couldn't wait to dive into the rest of the story. Azzarello crafted a narrative with a large cast of compelling characters and great subplots. When I got my hands on the complete series, I ended up rereading the first book because it had been a while since I first read it.

I also discovered there's a spin-off for Lono, and I'm excited to check it out. It would be amazing if Azzarello ever decided to explore the backstories of each of the Minutemen—delving into the old guard and even the era before Graves joined them.
