Harper Bliss takes a risk and writes about a subject that can be a trigger for some people and makes it the main topic of a romance novel.
Bliss does not romance or idolize suicide in A Breathless Place. Nor does she get preachy or maudlin about the topic. Bliss writes about Izzy's feelings in a straightforward manner and takes her time explaining all of the avenues and trains of thought that Izzy has journeyed through.
I love this book. Bliss includes her thoughts in the Author's Note and I recommend everyone read this section too. I say this because it helps to understand the book in its entirety.
This is not to say that Bliss did not write some really hot sex scenes. Izzy and Leila have amazing chemistry and they are fun together in between the sheets and out of them.
Bliss once again proves that love can be found later in life and at the most unexpected times. Let her take you to A Breathless Place.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
