Lady Ingram, wife of Charlotte's dear friend and benefactor, wants Sherlock Holmes to find her first love, who failed to show up at their annual rendezvous. Matters of loyalty and discretion aside, the case becomes even more personal for Charlotte as the missing man is none other than Myron Finch, her illegitimate half brother.

This was a pretty slow read for me until the last 10 pages, and then I instantly wanted to read the next book. I knew there was a point to all the duller stuff, and there was, but I still would have liked some more fun deductive details throughout and a little more liveliness.
Enjoyed the descriptions of food. :)
Rooting for Livy!
The whole Moriarty angle is only of moderate interest to me.
The brilliance of the writing and plot execution was amazing in this installment of the Lady Sherlock series. Honestly, I don't know how the author was going to continue with the Sherlockian mysteries but she outdid any expectations I undoubtedly built up after the first book.
The author entangles more of Charlotte's personal life with the case that encompasses the main plot of the book but in such a flawless fashion that I didn't anticipate all the entanglements that would soon unfold. This is my favorite type of book with my favorite type of character. An unpredictable book with a Sherlock archetype. I look forward to reading more in the series, as I was terribly sad when this ended.
I enjoyed this one even more than the first one. I think because we're now chasing down Moriarty and so much happened in this book!
DNF @ 3% / 16 minutes... no I didn't make it out of the first chapter.
Look, the prologue it quirky and I like it, but the first chapter is from multiple POV and currently we are going on about Charlotte's gluttony aka sugar (instead of the Sherlock's cocaine) addiction. I'm just so tired of people commenting on how fat she is and her own woes of “tolerably amount of chins”.
Yes, I know I didn't get to the mystery yet, but I am just so not interested.
Not rating because again, I didn't make it through one chapter lol.
