I had a 50 minute walk today and am spending the evening bulk cooking. This means LOTS of audio time.
This one was unfortunately not as good as the other book by this author. The flow wasn't as good and there was a particular hiding a pregnancy storyline that I had a hard time buying. Not a bad book though and covered some good themes regarding sisterhood and the criminal justice system.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this book and author for anyone that is a fan of Amy Tan, Lisa See, or Isabel Allende.
Multigenerational saga, black family in New Orleans throughout WWII, crack addiction, and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Real life portrayal of the impact of racism in the United States, It illustrated the essays of “We Were Eight Years in Power” really well.
