Generations ago, angel Remiel chose to renounce heaven and live on Earth. He found a place among ordinary humans by converting himself into Boston P.I. Remy Chandler, but he can never tell anyone who he was or that he still has angelic powers. Remy can will himself invisible, speak and understand any foreign language (including any animal language), and hear the thoughts of others. All these secret powers come in handy for a private investigator, especially when the Angel of Death goes missing and he's assigned to find him. As he gets deeper into the investigation, he realizes this is not a missing persons case but a conspiracy to destroy the human race and only Remy has the powers to stop the forces of evil.

I received a copy of this book from Goodreads Giveaways. Remy Chandler was once the angel Remiel. He chose to shed his wings and live among humans. He hung out his shingle and became a private investigator. Married, with a great dog Marlowe, life is good. Until it isn't. The Angel of Death has disappeared, no one is dying, just suffering. Remy must find him before the Four Horseman unleash the Apocalypse. This book was ok for me, I just didn't feel wowed. It lacked enough excitement for me, but held just enough of my attention to make me finish it.
Overall I liked this book. The concept of an Angels living among us and battles of good and evil, has always interested me. If you're not, I can see this book not being very appealing.
I think the characters are well developed. In particular I like the interaction between Remy and his dog Marlowe.
I plan to pick up the second novel at some point.
