I love this book. If you are a cat lover, you have to read this one. The main character name is Katty and her best friend name is Kay. How cute is that. Katty is a cat whisperer and Miles needs a cat sitting for his mother cat name Prince Francis. This story is so cute and wholesome.
I love their genuine, sincere, heartfelt love story. I'm so happy there's no third act break-up in this book. In other romances, it seemed like putting an unnecessary angsty argument between characters turned into a formula full of cliches.
I just finished A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting @helenahunting and here is my review.
Kitty has a potential new client for her cat sitting business. A business she built from the group up and her instagram is blowing up with her kitty whispering ways.
After an awkward first meet, Kitty learns that Miles isn't a fan of his mothers cat and the cat... not a fan of his either. His mother is in the hospital and may not be coming home.
Even with all the stresses in their lives, they find themselves looking forward to seeing each other and as the sparks and cat hair flies and they grow closer and closer, Kitty finds herself wanting things she never thought she would ever want but after an encounter at the park goes viral on social media, it has Kitty retreating back inside her shell and all her plans sliding away.
Anyone who knows me knows I love cutesy romance reads. This one was super cute! I love when they make the women realistic and raw. It makes it easier to connect to them then. There was a lot of humor in this book and the banter between Kitty and Miles is very entertaining.
I love the fact that Kitty has a bit of a social media following and it highlights some of the negative things that can impact your life based on what people post. The plot was fluid and very easy to follow. It is written in the POV of both Kitty and Miles which gives a more balanced read.
I'm not a massive fan of cats, (I'm a dog person like Miles) but at the end of the book I couldn't help feeling kind of fond of cats. I loved the development of Kitty and the journey she was on was a joy to experience. I thought Miles could have been a bit more rounded but honestly the whole book was so much fun, I read it in one sitting. I always enjoy books set in Canada so if you love romance and have a soft spot for felines, this has to be your next read.
4.5 stars! Thank you @netgalley and @grandcentralpub for my gifted copy
