Cute, but ran into my usual novella problem - this was barely 100 pages and I wanted more conflict/development, something! There's nothing wrong with two likable characters falling in love, but this was kind of like a doughnut: delightful while you're eating it, but not a lot of substance.
(2021 Summer Romance Bingo: holiday that is not Christmas.)
Pure fun!
I adored Lily and Nick - the meet-cute alone was... chef's kiss - and if meddling were an Olympic sport, the Wongs sure would be strong contenders for gold!
This was a perfect holiday romance novella!
It's set in Toronto! A place I just visited this summer and keep talking about because the food was amazing. And there's lots of eating of food and talking about food and joking about food! (I mean, it's a Thanksgiving book, but that's not even the half of it. I'm not even sure what soup dumplings are, but I want some now.) And awkward family setups resulting in great dialogue!
And the best thing of all ... having conversations with each other instead of big conflicts!!!
A-plus!
