Após o fim de seu casamento, a professora Blanca Perea aceita uma proposta de emprego nos Estados Unidos da América para organizar os arquivos esquecidos do falecido professor Andrés Fontana. O trabalho, que no começo parece simples, se mostra cada vez mais suspeito e, entre documentos e novos colegas, como o charmoso Daniel Carter e o rígido diretor Luis Zárate, Blanca começa a perceber que algumas coisas não são esquecidas por acaso.

I've read it in Portuguese. Even though the publishing house was Planeta, I think there's always something missing when you don't read the author in his/her native language - well, there shouldn't be, but I couldn't help but feeling like that, in particular when the ‘coños' showed up (my father's favorite curse word).
Anyway, that said, this was a book I got in Bookcrossing, and I had a good referral from a friend. But it had lows and highs from the beginning to the end. The last chapter made me smile, which was a surprise - a welcome one - and apart from that, I don't even know if I like the characters. Blanca, Luiz, Daniel, Andrés, even Aurora, they seemed okay, but never made it to be close to me: something I miss in Literature.
The story in itself is interesting: Blanca was left by her husband of many years and up and leaves to another country, as far as she could, to escape something painful. And yet, this pain is only dealt with very briefly, almost at the end of the book. She is hired by a Foundation to handle Andres Fontana's legacy, and if I say anything else it might be construed as a spoiler.
