In a comic form, this book tells the stories of America's actions in the world. It includes the events of 9/11 and then explores the cycles of US expansionism from Wounded Knee to Iraq. It also follows the story of Zinn, the son of poor Jewish immigrants, from his childhood in the Brooklyn slums to his role as America's historian.

I love the idea. Unfortunately, the artwork is the main drawback here. The subject matter is very serious, but the artwork does not reflect that. The information in this book is great, however. The topic of American Empire is always relevant. An interesting read, especially in view of the Arab Spring, our new involvement in Libya, and the execution of Osama bin Laden.
