Olive Parker is getting a second chance to turn her life around, but the music is still pounding in her blood.
Olive has just finished rehab and wants a new life. The only job she has held has been as a guitarist in a band. Now she has to find an apartment, get a job, and be on her own. She has no friends where she is going, but she knows to get her second chance and stay clean she has to do this.
River takes one look at Olive and hires her as a waitress just to entertain herself. She gets more than she bargained for.
Nicole Higginbotham-Hogue gives us an entirely different love story in her second book, A Second Chance (Self-Published, B07YMJGNT5, 2019), the “Jems and Jamz” series. I loved this story.
This is a novella so I do not want to give too much away, but this really is a book about second chances. Both of the main characters have issues and have to decide whether the second chance is worth it. Since I have spoken about Olive's issue, I will talk about her second chance because staying clean is a choice.
Overall, I loved River's and Olive interactions. I liked the conversations between Olive and Ziggy. The whole story was just wonderfully softly romantic and optimistic.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
