This book reminded me a little of [b:Born Wicked 11715276 Born Wicked (The Cahill Witch Chronicles, #1) Jessica Spotswood https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1332157702s/11715276.jpg 15706987] crossed with [b:The Impostor Queen 23495112 The Impostor Queen (The Impostor Queen, #1) Sarah Fine https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1434401954s/23495112.jpg 43085233]. I liked the idea of this book, but some things were too easy. All Howel's friends accepting Rook seemed strange. Magnus really pissed me off, using alcohol as some kind of excuse for his terrible behavior, and still not being able to simply be friendly with Howel. Just because you are attracted does not mean you get to act like an animal. I liked Blackwood, I thought that there would be a love triangle with him and Magnus, and was kind of confused when there wasnt. I feel like Rook is more like a brother to Howel than a love interest. I am definitely going to be reading the next installment, there is a lot of room for improvement and potential for this series.
