I first want to thank by Robert Dugoni Thomas & Mercer for my arc of A Steep Price
The Tracy Crosswhite Series, Book 6. I have read the entire series and inhaled the two books before this one so I could have a complete picture. I loved that the author gave us a happy ending for Tracy as she got her baby which is awesome and I also loved that the focus shifted to more the “A Team” rather than just Tracy. The story has two well-paced stories that flow well making this a true page turner. There is lots crammed into one book and it is all amazing a little of what you can look forward to. There is a little of gang violence, arranged marriages, escorts, online dating, technology being used for tracking, pregnant working moms, cancer. I might not even have listed it all. There always are multiple issues in these books. Yet, Dugoni always finds a way to weave it all together. I think if you have the time then you can defiantly finish this in one sitting it is that good. Four stars from me hoping to read much more from this series and this author.
I had a hard time getting into this one at first. I'm used to the focus being on Tracy but the main story seemed to be focused on two of the other detectives. Once Tracy got involved in the missing persons case, that is when the story had my attention. As the two different stories progressed I couldn't stop thinking about it and trying to puzzle out what might happen next. The story also got pretty personal when one of the detective's wives found out she has cancer. I got a little drippy but I did like the ending. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
