I couldn't put this book down. This is Davis Ashura's love letter to The Wheel of Time... and it shows in all of the best ways. It's a fresh take on a classic style. I enjoyed his writing style immensely and the story had me captivated the entire time. Can't wait for more books in this series!

My only gripe with this book is that there are a lot of characters and terminology to keep up with that aren't always a major focus in the book (currently), but I'm sure that'll change as the story progresses. To be specific; it was hard to keep up at a couple of points, because the world building is so expansive and there are a lot of references to ancient races and far away kingdoms that don't play a huge part in the current story

Other than that minor complaint, I can't say enough good things about this book. Very promising start to this series
