A Woman Undone

As one woman finally gets her life together, she watches as everyone else's life falls apart and she wonders if her wife and her will make it through the storm.

It is difficult to believe, but Lizzie has her relationship and adulting figured out in this sixth book of the “A Woman Lost” series in A Woman Undone by T.B. Markinson. Unfortunately, everyone around her seems to be forgetting the advice they gave her to grow up. Her brother may spend years in prison and his daughter is deserted by her mother. Her best friend Ethan is on the brink of divorce. Her brother Gabe popped the question, but now wants to take it back. Then her father is rushed to the hospital, there is a death in the family, and did I mention that Sarah wants another baby?

Markinson is pretty brilliant with how she wrote number six because it could actually be read as a stand-alone book. She regurgitates everything that has happened in one through five to remind everyone of where we are in the story as the shit keep hits the fan for Lizzie and her family. You do not feel left out or that you have forgotten something because everything is summed up quickly and neatly. The other nice part of Lizzie adulting is there is more sex in this book and we all know I like sex so I was happy to see this as Sarah and Lizzie's relationship matures and settles. I will also say as I do not want to give away too many details, there are some macabre moments that really tickled my funny bone. I also feel that as much as Markinson closed the door on Lizzie and Sarah, it felt like she opened the door for all the rest of the family except I think she only writes lesbian fiction. I have enjoyed the journey this series has taken me on as this is the first time I have read this type of series (apparently this type of series is very popular in lesbian fiction (laugh)). I am glad that I did not have to wait in between books between five and six and neither will you as all six are out now. Happy reading and enjoy the journey!
