Abaddon's Gate

Not as good at Caliban's War - can Bobby and Avasarala come back please? - but still good. I got emotional at the end. I liked Clarissa's character arc; glad to see her fleshed out with a conscience and a soul.

Re-read in 2024:

I liked this more the second time. I do think it suffers without Bobbie and Avasarala but I really love the way that the narratives of Anna and Clarissa show that - as cheesy as it seems - love, compassion, and forgiveness as well as justice are really the only ways for us live together as humans. Anna allowed Clarissa to see that she could have value outside of the sphere of her family's influence and resentment, and that saved everyone. ♥️
