This was fun for me because I think I'm basically the same age as Kendra so I enjoyed the reminiscing about LiveJournal/AIM and such, which is obviously not the main point of the book. I think at this point in my educational journey I'm not shocked by the microaggressions (and macroaggressions) Kendra experienced as a Black student at a prestigious, majority white boarding school, but I don't think it was trying to be, like, [b:Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents 51152447 Caste The Origins of Our Discontents Isabel Wilkerson https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1597267568l/51152447.SY75.jpg 75937597]. It's her own memoir and her own changing perspective on education.I think this would be a great Alex award book–an adult memoir with a lot of teen appeal, especially since boarding school is such an intriguing concept.
