I love the Will Trent series, so my expectations going into this installment were high. That being said, it was good, but not one of my favorites. I found that it dragged some in the middle and there wasn't as much growth with the main characters and their relationships as some of her other books. It was more focused on the unraveling and solving of the crime plot.
If you are a fan, go in with reasonable expectations. It is well written and the plot is interesting.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital ARC.
I was beyond excited when I received this copy from NetGalley, Karin Slaughter never disappoints! This book was everything I expected, Sara and Will are both individually fascinating characters who I've followed since the beginning of both The Grant County and Will Trent series and I cannot recommend them enough. After That Night is heavy, emotional, raw and brilliantly written. I enjoyed the storyline, going back to “that night” and I can't wait to see where the series will take us next.
Awful, disturbing and harrowing to read, but one of the best crime thrillers I've ever read. Absolutely one of the best from Karin Slaughter and I continue to love this series.
