Alto Secrets

I am enjoying this mid-grade series so much! Alto Secrets is the book I probably should have read when I was in 8th grade, keeping secrets from my parents and feeling like they would never understand. As in her first book, Kimble is able to impart wisdom to her young readers without using a preachy approach, and her humor will be appreciated by parents reading along.

I particularly enjoy the strong peer and parent relationships present in the Choir Girls series so far. Maddie, Summer, and Pilar are delightful in their own ways, and their friendship definitely makes each girl better. I can't wait to read the next installment - hopefully it's Pilar's turn to have a story??!!
