This one was satisfying if you've been reading these in order... Characters from past stories come back and many things that were mentioned before are brought up again pushing the larger narrative forward to... something.

This one, like Cry Little Sister, is mostly done through a manipulative sociopathic character's inner dialogue, who likes hurting others around him. He has a hidden power... and he wants more. As the two officers question him they slowly find out they are not in control...

It was great seeing past story threads being revisited and expanded and catching up on past characters. The story is mostly a huge set up for what's to come, and it keeps the tension throughout itself and sets the tone for whatever is next.
