You've read/ listened to American Queen already? Yes? Good! So, you know how AQ ended, that cliffhanger was a jaw-dropping one, right? I was so pleased I had American Prince already queued up and ready to go. Of course, life meant I had to wait a day or two, which was tough because I had so many thoughts about AQ running around my head. Once I was able to dive in I was just a crazy person, I shouted at my audible app more than once.
There were several moments between Ash and Embry that melted my heart, I'm talking, I wanted to cry because they were so incredibly sweet. For all Ash's bravado and soldier/ President-ness, he really was a sweet man who knew the right thing to say to make a girl... and man swoon. This book contained some difficult moments for Greer and I have to say I thought they were handled beautifully and I understood her mindset.
Abilene continues to show herself as a horrible person, even more so in this book. She's a character you'll love to hate. I didn't particularly like Morgan, but she did grow on me. Merlin still makes me so mad, I just want to punch him and tell him to mind his own business. I enjoyed how this book is told from the POV of both Greer and Embry, you get more of an understanding of what Embry's thought processes are and why he does the things he does. Which was frustrating in book 1 but now make sense. With the added benefit of seeing his relationship with Ash.
I really liked the timeline shifts, from then and now. It gives a good understanding of the characters, what they've been through and why they do the things they do. The BDSM scenes are done incredibly well, giving you the thought process along with the action, it will make some other books look like amateurs and give you a good sense of what a relationship that involves it would be like. The sex scenes continue to be smoking hot, the scenes between Ash and Embry, oh my word! It will have you hot under the collar for sure, but also, swooning, in its beauty.
The ending will have you sat in awe, wondering what you can possibly do now. Although American King is available, it is not yet out on audio. I've actually caved in, the wait was too much, ok, so I only managed to go 12 hours, but I pulled up the Kindle app and I am now reading... with my eyes gasp because I wasn't ready to leave these characters behind, they will have this effect on you that just make it so hard not to sit and think about them. Wondering where the story can go, why Sierra is putting them through this and how much more they can take.
The narration was wonderful. Stephanie Rose continues to perform these characters and situations brilliantly, I really love how she chooses to voice them. Guy Locke is new to me and I really enjoyed his performance, especially of Embry. The production had no issues.

Side-note: If you don't believe a heart is big enough to love more than one person and don't believe the message of love is love, this is not the book for you. Some scenes may be difficult to read, if you have any set triggers please give me a shout and I'll help you with details. Know that each scene has a purpose.
