I thought I would like this more and I feel a bit bad that I didn't? It was a Printz honoree but Emily's character fell a little flat for me. I liked her poems... but everything else about her seemed unemotional - and not necessarily unemotional in a numb, shutting down from trauma sort of way - and a bit bland. Sorry... harsh review. Ok, coming back to say I did really appreciate that this was a teen book with abortion in it. Obviously, that's a really difficult choice but so many teen books don't even MENTION it.
