this had a very interesting concept in terms of the spin given to the main character. often the ability to be part of an investigation was narrowed down to being a genius, having faced a serial killer before, or being in the military. this however is a novel idea. A magician or illusionist.

obviously coming from the unique understanding of the authors looking glass into both fields though his own skillset and that of the people around him he crafted a character that is a unique blend of information.

I do have to say that I enjoyed a male author in his attempt on a female character and was happy that It was not over-sexualized as other than the few parts that seemed alright. you can also see the author's thoughts on certain topics such as religion and certain human behavior through Jessica's thoughts at the beginning of the book.

while all of these gives a book aimed for success i was slightly disappointed by the ending but not to much but its what kept the rating at a 4 and not a 5
