Anne of Windy Poplars

This is the fourth book in the Anne of Green Gables series so if you haven't read it yet you might want to skip this review because it could potentially be spoilery for previous books.

So I am still really loving Anne. I love following her character and hearing about everything she gets up to. She's still one of my favorite characters and she's the reason I continue to read the series because despite the issues I am having I still really love her.

As for the issues I mentioned. Well the majority of the side characters are all very similar to each other. There's not enough to differentiate between them and considering we keep meeting new characters in each book it's getting old basically reading the same character personalities over and over again. But I am more interested in Anne so this doesn't seem to be bothering me as much.

My biggest issue has to do with the romance. I am a romance lover so I of course zone in on it the most. It's what I am most interested in. I love Anne and Gilbert but we don't get anything from Gilbert. We are being told about the romance and not shown and in this book it's Anne writing to Gilbert for 3 years and we get absolutely nothing from Gilbert. I am so tired of Gilbert being a huge part of Anne's life but barely being in any of the books. I understand this series is following Anne's life and I love that but I want more Gilbert.

Despite my issues I am still really enjoying the journey I am just starting to get more annoyed that some of the aspects I mentioned have been going on since the beginning.
