I want to begin by thanking the amazing Holly for gifting me a copy of her upcoming book, Ashes of Aether. I was scrolling through bookstagram when I saw her post asking for ARC readers. I swiped, I read the blurb and I was hooked. I KNEW I had to read the book, because it sounded so good and I was expecting something awesome.

And that's what I got: an awesome book, that has quickly become one of my favourites. The world building is amazing, the magic system is so interesting: everything is fueled by Aether, the sorcerers of Nolderan draw upon the aether in their blood in order to cast spells. This book follows the story of a girl named Reyna, who wants to become as powerful as her father, the Grandmage of Nolderan. But first she has to pass the Mage Trials, but more importantly she has to keep her mind and heart intact.

I absolutely loved Reyna, she's such a fierce and beautiful character and I felt connected to her from the very first few pages. Holly is such a talented writer and she has the ability to make you feel EVERYTHING, and I can say that very few authors have managed to make me feel that way, some of them being Sarah J Maas, Cassandra Clare, Leigh Bardugo. I know Holly is going to be big someday and I'm glad to be here, watching her grow!

As for Arluin, I loved him from the start. A very good love interest and I felt attracted to him instantly, especially because I saw him through Reyna's eyes: as one of her closest friends and her lover. He's a very deep character and I really want to see what's going through his mind, I would've loved some chapters from his point of view in order to understand him better.

All that being said, if you want a story full of action, magic, friendships, love, betrayal and AMAZING PLOT TWISTS, Ashes of Aether is the one you're looking for!

I am so excited to read the next book in the series, because I need to know where Reyna's story is going.
