Awakening

This book was not to my taste at all. Hopefully other folks will enjoy it.

Awakening had an interesting story, but I didn't realize that until I was 72 percent finished reading it. The reason? It was saturated in myths and god and goddesses, which all go against the Christian faith. I wondered the entire time I was reading this book why it was categorized as Christian fiction, because it questions Christianity and promotes mythology (and even Buddhism) more than anything.

The plot was very confusing to me. One minute it was in present-day, and the next it was in ancient times – with hardly a transition word or difference in type of font! This was unsettling to me as a reader and had me reeling for many pages as I tried to decipher which century I was visiting and which characters were present or absent.

I cannot give more details than those, because I don't want to give away any plot points.
