I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the publisher, through Netgalley., in exchange for an honest review. When I wished for this book I had no idea what I was getting into but Wow am I impressed! I do want to let you all know that you MUST read INTO THE LIGHT before this installment in the series.
This book has almost gotten me fired a few times this week. It is so well written that you won't be able to put it down and you won't want to. Aleatha Romig is flawless in her writing, she makes her readers go through every heartbreak every bit of agony along with her Characters. Away from the dark picks up right where Into The Light left off, and you start the journey with Sara Jacob Dylan and Stella. If you have read the first part, the best way I can explain it is the first book is the frame of a jigsaw puzzle where you are left to question everything and Away from the dark is all the missing pieces.
As Sara's memories come back to her, she is faced with the grim reality of her situation. She is fully aware of the evil that surrounds her, but powerless to stop it. Trying to save herself only lands her in greater danger, forcing her to rely upon the very man that she's trying to escape. Is the Man known as Jacob someone she should trust or someone she should run from?
As the story unfolds you see that these two broken characters find peace and acceptance in each other. Once all the twists and turns are smoothed out you see that they are falling in love. These two characters are so well constructed that you want them to succeed or fail but you want them to do it together. After reading this book I am left with so many emotions the strongest of those being is to tell you to go out and get it ASAP! You will find a character to cry for, want to hug, relate to, and even PUNCH!
I am a fan through and through with this series and hope to see at least one more book if not more!
