Barred Desires

I liked the book a lot more before they got together. In spite of the annoying girlfriend. Their dynamic was different from most step brother books.

They both saw each other fucking someone else, started seeing each other in another light, and the feelings slowly developed over months before they finally did something.

So it wasn't the usual overwhelmed by sudden lust and diddled my stepbro schtick. I appreciated that.

Beyond that, everything after they got together felt mundane. I hated the annoying girlfriend storyline.

I loved that they felt it was appropriate to out themselves to their dad a few hours after he woke up from a coma. Unhinged.

Also, is it bad that I'm always a little disappointed that the fallout from the brother thing is never big? I want people to be scandalized, it's the most intriguing aspect of this trope and somehow there's never enough outrage. Oh well.
