I like this book for what it is. The premise is really intriguing, the characters, especially Grace, are compelling enough for me to keep on reading, and the writing is straightforward and easy to get through. It delivered what I want from it, so for that, it gave me the sense of satisfaction and I enjoyed it.
However, the plot of this is nothing unique. I think I've already read this or seen this in a couple of movies or tv shows, that it came off as generic to me. I find it enjoyable, yes, but because of its plainness, it feels very cliche and predictable.
One thing that kind of bothers me is Jack Angel's character. Instead of being creepy, which he is in some way, he felt a bit cartoonish that he ended up looking like a loser to me than an actual psychopath. I do get what the author was trying to do with Jack's characterization but it just didn't fully convince me.
All in all, it is a twisted, dark and a fun book. I highly suggest it if you are new to the thriller genre or if you just want to have a good time.
