Every time I read an Amy Lane, 50% in I'm like ‘I need to read more Amy Lane books' and the other 50% of the book, I remember why I don't. These books require significant recovery time. The angst is so heavyyyyyyy.
‘Not even for this moment could I tell that lie'
I loved that statement. For majority of this book, I was worried that Grant would get the ‘beloved dead husband' edit, where the MC is always a little bit more in love with the memory of him than the current partner.
I love that Travis got 100% of McKay. Because Travis deserved that and then some. And I love that McKay got Travis. Because after his history, he deserved to be loved by the best. And he was.
This is a great love story. But goddammit, is the HEA hard won.
