Between You and Me

After really enjoying a couple of Lisa Hall's later books I wanted to go back and read her earlier ones, but this one fell a bit flat for me.

Its clear that Hall is a great author, every thing she writes is compulsively readable, but I guessed the twist in this one about 20mins in. Usually this wouldn't bother me much, but given the entire book hinged on this one twist it just felt a bit pointless and when it was eventually revealed it was underwhelming. This may have been a more shocking twist when it released in 2016 but reading it now, it just didn't have the impact I think it may have done at that time.
