Wow. I just literally finished this book like five minutes ago and...well:

I don't know if I've even been as annoyed with a book that turned out as amazing as this one did. For a good section of the early to middle part of this book, Whyborne was up to his usual magic is the best thing ever, totally ignoring his super suspicious relatives that showed up and Griffin was being all magic is dangerous and I was just getting fed up. Then a totally unexpected but very nicely foreshadowed revelation happened and... I kind of started loving this story. There was like three unexpected twists in a row, Whyborne and Griffin finally, hopefully, turning a page in their relationship and just general awesomeness.

Also, is it odd for me to say I'm starting to get attached to Fenton?

I keep going back and forth with my rating. I, for one of the few times, really wish that I gave out half stars because this is a 4.5 star read. Finally, I decided that my trouble early on could not be ignored and dropped this to 4 stars.
