Picture books? Yes, they are everywhere.

Long chapter books? Yep, them, too.

Small chapter books? Not so much.

Good small chapter books? Really, really hard to find.

This book, I am happy to say, is a good small chapter book. It's short, with a small vocabulary, with illustrations that carry our early chapter book readers on throughout the book. And it's fresh, which is quite surprising. The characters are clever and interesting, and the plot is new.

Glad I found this series.
