Started it yesterday. Today it's gone, done, never to be explored for the first time again. What a reaffirming book, especially for those that feel like the one who's off in life. It's a good time: it's funny, it's charming, it's meticulous, it's tender and it has very pointed observations about what it means to be a career woman. What else could you ask for?
Now that I've read "Book Lovers", "People We Meet On Vacation" really feels like a stepping stone to get to this book. Obvious, I know. It's the nature of getting better at your craft, but it's so much more thoughtful and careful with its representation of a lead female character. As a reader, I'm happy to experience this growth because it feels like we're going through it all together.
