Anna Pigeon is on vacation, but don't think for one minute that means there won't be something dangerous and exciting happen. The excitement begins when Anna and her husband go on a rafting trip at Big Bend National Park. Saving a starving and stranded cow is first on the list. The Rio Grande water begins to rise, and the rapids appear too much for the group. Then, a pregnant woman is found caught in a strainer and someone is shooting at members of the rafting group.
I have to say I liked this novel much better than Winter Study.
I love reading about the National Parks, and always recommend Nevada Barr books to reader friends.
