updated version of Ringworld, but not as good. Hopefully the second book is better.
This was very slow and I wasn't interested in the presentations about the alien culture. Two different groups of humans are wandering about the gigantic structure and it was a bit tediouskeeping track of their travels. Once they got to the Bowl, the human starship seemed mostly irrelevant. Benford and Niven are good writers but I would recommend [b:Ringworld 61179 Ringworld Larry Niven https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1408793358s/61179.jpg 924711] over this.
I really enjoyed this book, but it took me far longer than I expected to read it.
This is a two-part story. You will need to read [b:Shipstar 17910059 Shipstar (Bowl of Heaven, #2) Gregory Benford https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1391355987l/17910059.SY75.jpg 25095511] to find out what happened. (See my review for the entire story there.)3.5 stars rounded up for the entire story.
