Although still a great read, I didn't find this quite as strong as the first three books - perhaps the novelty is wearing off a little. This time the theme is architecture, but it's a while before we get there are Grant investigates a number of apparently unconnected crimes and chases up leads before eventually being drawn to a South London towerblock (based loosely on the real Heygate Estate, which was demolished in 2014).
There are fewer elements of worldbuilding this time around, although there is plenty of use of what we've already seen and development of the main plot arc concerning the Faceless Man. The description of London and of police work are impressively detailed as always, even if the plot builds rather slowly - towards an admittedly dramatic and fast-paced final few chapters. And the shock ending once again left me wondering where it will go next...
