This is one of the first, actual books I have read in my life. As someone who had only read ~100 pages from a bunch of random books, never finishing a book and having trouble finding the joy in reading, this was a really fun book to read before going to sleep. I know it's a graphic novel but it's very well written so I'll count it.

The characters are one of a kind, they stay in your memory even after you have read the book. You think about them and can relate to them or compare them to people you see in real life. I think that the story is particularly relatable to women so I would definitely recommend this book to other women.

As someone who just got into reading and as an artist, what initially drew me to this book was the cover art. I knew I wanted to read something medieval and the art style of this book just looked so different compared to other graphic novels that I had to check it out. I read Castle Waiting, Vol. 1 on a Kindle device so I don't know if the actual, hard copy of the book is colored or black and white but even though I read it in black and white, it was still great.

I kind of wanted more to happen in the ending though. Like, I know there's Vol. 2 but it still felt like it ended abruptly, that's why I can't give it 5 stars. Really good book nevertheless.
