There's nothing particularly wrong with this book, except that it really is geared toward middle-grade readers and nowhere on the book is that indicated. In fact, I read it because a colleague, knowing my interest in China, recommended it. But it's just a sappy story told from the point of view of two cats who live in a Beijing hutong during the time of SARS and Olympics construction. It might be a good way to educate a child about China, but I can't recommend it for adults.
