The Blood Moon Chronicles is broken up into 5 short books. I had the pleasure of reading book 1, Conceived which also included a sneak peek into BitterSweet, book 2.
I looked at this book as a prequel or as a precursor or even as a peep show which helped to enjoy the book a bit more. The author manages to create a very thick ambience of something to come. Conceived is full of intrigue and not too many details are revealed at all. It's almost a tease, a very brief glimpse into Sophie's life and of the stranger that seems to invade it one summer. As the story unfolds I came to a very quick conclusion that I wouldn't get many answers in this book and if anything the book challenges you to come up with more questions. With that said, I am left with a curiosity begging to find out what happens next in the Blood Moon Chronicles.
I definitely recommend this read but I would also recommend that people pick up the entire series if it would be more satisfying reading the entire series as if it were a novel and not five novellas.
